About Us

Nordic Nannies was founded in the spring of 2007 by Mareena Nissi to enable Finnish childcarers to find work and families in Europe to benefit from employing a quality Finnish childcarer. Mareena has worked in five different countries as both au pair and live-in nanny so she understands very well the complexities of working abroad and living in a family environment. Having met childcarers from many different cultures, Mareena is convinced that the Finnish au pairs and nannies are among the best in their profession and possess all the right qualities for the job, including a strong work ethic, practical skills to care for children as well as excellent language skills.

We at Nordic Nannies are committed to finding each and every family the best possible au pair or nanny. We only accept nannies who are professional and au pairs who, in addition to some experience with children, have a positive attitude toward life and work. All our childcarers must also demonstrate a genuine love for children if they wish to be employed through Nordic Nannies. We regularly turn away childcarers who do not meet our high standards.

We are based in Oulu in Northern Finland, serve our customers in Finnish, Swedish and English and can obtain translation services in other languages if needed. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about our service.
